Installing the 41TE Transmission in a Chrysler 2.7 Engine

Install the Torque Converter
Remove the torque converter (it simply unscrews out), replace with the new converter and turn it so that it is properly seated about 10mm deep below the housing level. This is very important.

Transfer the Transmission Harness
I don't remember now, but I think this picture means that I transferred the harness from the old transmission.
Install the Left Engine Mount
I got a non-OEM mount and the bolts were a little too long and did not allow the transmission to fit. Measure the mount with a Vernier caliper and adjust if needed.

Place the rear mount in place as well, but tuck it out of the way.

Raise the Transmission Jack High
I put the transmission in place and spaced it between the flywheel and the suspension crossmember with some cardboard. I used a 2x4 to raise the transmission up and be able to fit the jack under it.
Raise the Transmission
Raise the transmission and make sure it doesn't snag or force anything. I had to use two jacks because the transmission has to be raised at a certain angle.
Match The First Bolt
Once the transmission is in place to where at least one set of bolt holes line up, tighten the bolt partially and juggle the rest of the transmission in place. Don't break any bolt hole!
Connect the Mounts
Tighten the left and rear mounts.

Install the starter, front engine bracket and front engine mount.
Replace the Radiator Lines
I strongly recommend replacing these, even though they can be reused. The old lines were very stubborn and would not come off easily from the radiator. I had to carefully whittle them down near the ends to make them thinner, then they came off.

Connect All Periferals
Connect shifter cable, speed and crankshaft position sensors, dipstick tube, throttle body stay, throttle body, air ducts, etc.

Install the starter, front engine bracket and front engine mount.
Add Transmission Oil
Remove bottom pan and replace transmission oil filter.
